The most technologically advanced devices and engaging forms of media are no match to the allure of a custom aquarium. A one-of-kind, custom-designed aquarium that’s teeming with brilliantly colored marine animals is more than just visually appealing, but it also promotes relaxation. Watching the aquatic flora and fauna dance through crystal clear water that’s accented by vibrant hues and interesting textures really is quite memorizing.
While there are many different types of prefabricated aquariums on the market, and they come in a myriad of shapes and sizes, nothing can compare to a custom design that has been created just for you. If you’re planning on bringing an aquatic habitat into your Suffolk County home, here are three great reasons to consider having a East Northport, NY custom aquarium designer create and install your display.
Cost Effectiveness
It’s a common misconception that store-bought fish tanks are more affordable than custom-designed aquatic habitats. Sure, a standard aquarium may be more affordably priced than a custom tank if you’re planning on going for something standard, but if you want a real “grown-up” tank; something grand that will serve as a focal point in your Suffolk County home, then custom can actually be a much more cost-effective option. Large and/or uniquely shaped prefabricated aquariums can be quite costly, and when you add in all of the other elements that are needed, such as the filtration system, the accessories, and of course, the flora and fauna, well, the price can really add up. A reputable East Northport, NY custom aquarium company, on the other hand, will work within the parameters of your budget to create an aquatic environment that includes all of the necessary features and elements, providing a stunning display that won’t break the bank.
Uniqueness
There might be a large selection of pre-made fish tanks on the market, but if you want something that’s truly unique, then a custom design is definitely the way to go. With store-bought tanks, you’re limited to the shapes, sizes, and features that someone else has created. On the other hand, when you work with a East Northport, NY custom aquarium company, the only limit to the design of your tank is your imagination. Custom aquatic habitats can be made in almost any shape and any size, such as a massive cylindrical tank that features an artificial, yet realistic-looking mangrove, a curved tank tucked into a curved wall, or even a tank that functions as a piece of furniture, like a coffee table or a headboard. With a custom aquarium, virtually any idea that you can think of can become a reality.
Better Quality
No matter how grand the design, positive the reviews, or high the price tag may be, the simple truth is that when you purchase a store-bought fish tank, in regard to quality, you never really know what you’re going to get. It might look beautiful, but looks can be very deceiving. The fact is that store-bought tanks are mass-produced, which means that it was made on an assembly line, and there’s a chance that there could be errors, such as gaps and cracks that could result in water leaking all over the place. With a custom aquatic habitat, especially when it’s created by a reputable and experienced East Northport, NY custom aquarium expert, not only will the quality of the tank be impeccable, but so will the entire filtration system. Aquarium designers only use high-end materials that have been hand-selected for their durability, the tanks are carefully assembled at their workshops or right on-site, state-of-the-art filtration systems are used, the installers will make sure that everything is set up and functioning properly, and they will review the entire system with you. Furthermore, if you have issues after installation, a credible professional will address the matter and make any corrections that may be necessary. The bottom line: the quality of a custom aquarium is far superior to store-bought, pre-fabricated tanks.
East Northport is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Huntington in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The population was 20,217 at the 2010 census.
Soon after the establishment of a village in the Huntington area, English settlers sought to further expand their territory. On July 30, 1656, land was purchased from Chief Asharoken, head of the Matinecocks Native American tribe, part of which consisted of the land that is today known as East Northport.
Two distinct communities formed in the area now known as East Northport. The more populous settlement known as Larkfield was located on the northern side, near Vernon Valley (now part of Northport). Larkfield originally developed near the location of Genola Cemetery, just north of the modern-day junction of Larkfield Road, Vernon Valley Road, and Laurel Road. A second community located on the southern side was known as Clay Pitts, named for its vast deposits of red clay. This clay which had been used by Native Americans to form pottery was used by the Europeans to form bricks for construction. The land between Larkfield and Clay Pitts was well suited for agriculture, and the region prospered in the late 18th century as a thriving farming community by supplying produce to markets in New York City and Brooklyn.
In 1868 the Long Island Rail Road opened a station within the village of Northport. However, just a few years later the LIRR decided to move the Northport station to a new location in Larkfield to facilitate further railway extension to Port Jefferson. The new railway station located at Larkfield Road and Bellerose Avenue opened on January 13, 1873. Although the station retained the name of Northport, train conductors would refer to it as “East of Northport”, because the station was located east of the railway junction which used to direct trains north to the old station located in the village of Northport. Despite the fact that East Northport is primarily south of Northport, the area became known thereafter as East Northport. The Larkfield Post Office formally changed its name to East Northport in 1910. The East Northport, New York post office building was renamed the Jerome Anthony Ambro, Jr. Post Office Building in 1998.
Learn more about East Northport. The cost of a display aquarium varies depending on the material you choose, the size and shape of the tank, and more. A wide range of costs is about $750 to $7000. Costs increase with the size and height of the tank.
The best tanks are always large rectangular ones. Fish will live longer and healthier lives if they have plenty of water to swim in.
The cost of manufacturing and transporting acrylic is less than that of glass. However, a glass aquarium is still cheaper than an acrylic aquarium. The most popular aquariums are made of glass.
Most fish require room to move laterally (side-to-side), which is highly restricted by tall, narrow tanks. A tall aquarium leaves very little open space when plants and other decorations are added. Therefore, longer tanks are much better than taller tanks.
