4 Reasons Why You Should Invest in Professional Aquarium Installation Services for Your Inwood, NY Office
Have you ever visited an office that had a fish tank? Not just a pet-store fish tank, but a striking custom aquatic habitat? If so, there’s no doubt that you immediately felt welcomed and experienced a sense of calm. If you own and operate your own business, you may be thinking about emulating the same ambiance by bringing saltwater or freshwater fish tanks into your workplace; however, you aren’t 100% sure that it’s the right decision.
If you’ve been considering adding a custom aquatic habitat into your place of business but you’re still on the fence, here’s a look at four great reasons why professional aquarium installation is a wise investment. Once you learn about these benefits, you’re totally going to want to schedule a consultation with a professional Inwood, NY aquarium service.
Enhanced Mood
Several studies have found that fish tanks in office settings can provide mood enhancement benefits for both employees and visitors. That’s because the aquarium fish combined with aquatic plants bring nature indoors, and being surrounded by nature instantly elevates the mood, as human beings have a natural desire to connect with nature (a phenomenon the Journal of Environmental Psychology describes as “biophilia”). In fact, in one study, researchers found that simply looking at an image of a natural setting for just 40 seconds encouraged the brain to enter a state of relaxation.
Increased Productivity
In the same study referenced above, the performance of participants who stared at an image of a natural setting was markedly higher than the subjects who stared at an image of a concrete roof. The participants who were positively impacted by the natural image made fewer mistakes and weren’t as distracted as their counterparts. These findings certainly illustrate that professional aquarium installation for your Nassau County business is a wise investment, as it will help to increase employee productivity, which will be beneficial for the overall success of your company.
Reduced Blood Pressure and Heart Rate
Another reason to consider investing in professional aquarium installation for your Nassau County business is the physical benefits that it will provide. A study published in the journal of Environment & Behavior found that there was a noticeable reduction in the blood pressure and heart rate of those who participated in the study. The more aquarium fish were in the tank, the more heart rate and blood pressure decreased. Lower heart rate and blood pressure aren’t just beneficial for the physical health of your employees and clients, but it’s beneficial for their mental health, too.
Given the benefits highlighted above, it’s easy to see that professional aquarium installation is a sound investment for your Nassau County business. Saltwater and freshwater fish tanks are attention-grabbing, and an aquarium that is bursting with colorful fish, plants, and decorative elements will be sure to leave a lasting impression on your clients. Not only that, but your clients’ interest in the products and/or services that you offer will certainly increase when they see that you have a fish tank, as the mere presence of the tank demonstrates that your company is attentive and pays attention to the little details, which clients will undoubtedly find appealing; plus, the relaxing effects that the aquarium creates will can be helpful for the decision-making process.
Inwood is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in Nassau County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 9,792 at the 2010 census. It is considered part of Long Island’s Five Towns area and is located within the Town of Hempstead.
Inwood was first settled in 1600s. Like many other nearby communities, the area was known as Near Rockaway. A meeting was held by the Town of Hempstead on January 16, 1663, and during that meeting, the name of what is now Inwood was changed to North West Point (also spelled as Northwest Point), named after its geographic position in relation to the more central part of Far Rockaway, which it was then part of. It became the first area which was once known as Near Rockaway to be given its own name. Its original settlers were Jamaica Bay fishermen, generally lawless and troublesome to other Rockaway residents. Soon after the American Civil War, the area in 1871 became known as Westville. The Westville designation was used until residents petitioned for the United States Postal Service to establish a post office in the community. The post office refused as a Westville already existed upstate. This led locals to change the community’s name to Inwood in December 1888. This name received the most votes; the other proposed names included Bayhead, Springhaven, Radwayton, Elco, Raway, Pike’s Peak, and Custer. By changing the name, the locals were able to get a post office for Inwood, which opened on February 25, 1889.
The post office closed ca. 1920, and it was not until 1949 when a new post office would open in the community (although an unsuccessful attempt was made in 1932).
The first true road in the area, the Inwood end of Lord Avenue, was built when the neighboring village of Lawrence was developed.
Learn more about Inwood. You should perform a partial water change in your fish tank around once every two to three weeks, or more often if you have a lot of fish. If you have to change all of the water in your fish tank completely (a full water change), only do it when it is absolutely necessary.
Glass tanks typically last between 15 and 20 years if they are made of quality materials. A high-end glass tank can last more than 25 years if properly maintained.
You should vacuum your aquarium regularly, whether once a week or once every other week, as part of a good maintenance routine. Ensure that all your decor is removed before vacuuming.
You can change water as often as you like if you dechlorinate properly and keep the temperature constant. Water may be changed daily by professional fish breeders to remove excess food and promote maximum growth.
